St. Patricks Day Brownies

So, I didn’t quite get around to making that pinata cake, but I did get around to making these wonderful St. Patrick’s Day brownies. I came across this recipe 3-4 years ago wondering around World Market and get super excited about making the recipe every year!

I must be honest … these brownies are super rich and are more like fudge than brownies, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing!  If you decide to make them, please comment below. I would love to know how yours turn out.

St. Patrick's Day Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 6 Tbs unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar superfine or granulated
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups Guinness Extra Stout Beer at room temperature
  • 8 oz dark bittersweet chocolate
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips white (I prefer dark, so I substituted )
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semisweet
  • 1/8 cup confectioners’ sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions:

  1.  Heat oven to 375. Line 9″ x 13″ pan with foil.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa, and salt. Set aside.
  3.  Melt butter , dark, and white chocolates over low heat and remove.
  4. Beat eggs and sugar on high for 3 minutes.
  5. Add melted chocolate and then flour to mixture.
  6. Whisk in Guinness. Batter will be thin.
  7. Pour into pan and drop semisweet chips evenly on top.
  8. Bake 25-30 minuste.
  9.  Dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.

DIY Weekend

Anyone have any plans for the weekends? I’m feeling a DIY weekend coming up! I’m not sure what I want to do yet, but check out some of these ideas…

1. Decorate some of my charger cords

DIY Washi Tape cord I don’t currently have any washi tape, so I’m not sure if I’m going to try another method. However, it might just be the perfect time to get my hands on some of this pretty tape all over the internet.

2. Pinata Cake

Pinata cakeThis looks so fun!!! Maybe I can find a way to make this a little healthier and convince my husband it’s a great idea.🙂

3. Sewing Project

Leather clutchSo, I did just get a new sewing machine. I Bernina to be exact. Due to that little fact I have a strong feeling this project might get moved to the top of my priority this weekend. If it works out, I’ll be sure to share!

I hope everyone has a great and productive weekend!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! I plan to start posting some of the gifts and projects my husband worked on soon! We were quite busy this year with small desks, cowls, dry rubs, foot scrubs, etc… With the new year we also decided to make some resolutions. Hopefully, you did too🙂 Here’s what my husband, Matt, and I came up with:

1. Finish a new workout which happens to be Tapout

2. Try new ingredients more frequently. (This one is probably my favorite!) So far, we have had radishes, tofu, whole olives, capers, and poppy seeds but of course  not all in one meal.

3. Stick to a cleaning schedule. This one is mostly me, but I’ve got to start being consistent at some point right? As of right now the day of the week and task start with the same letter so maybe I will remember to do it. Silly I know but at least it’s worked so far. Here’s what it looks like… Sunday savings, Monday mirrors, Tuesday tub and towels, Wednesday wash clothes, Thursday toilets, Friday floors, and Saturday sinks.

I would love to know if any of you decided on any resolutions and how they are working out!
